The Payroll and Timekeeping Unit manages the payroll and timekeeping of over 1,000 employees and processes the annual payroll as well as all monetary contractual agreements. The Kings County District Attorneyâs Office (KCDA) is one of the largest prosecutorâs offices in the country. The Fiscal and Budget Planning Bureau is responsible for managing all financial and procurement operations for the agency including the, oversight, monitoring, and strategic planning of the agencyâs $135 million budget (FY24) inclusive of State and Federal resources. This budget supports a staff of more than 1,100 employees, critical agency resources, and community partnerships. The Bureau consists primarily of 3-4 collaborative units including the Budget & Grants Analysis, Procurement, and Fiscal Units.  The Budget & Grants Analysis Unit is responsible for managing the agencyâs operating budget and is the main point of contact between the agency and the Mayorâs Office of Management and Budget. KCDA has an exciting opportunity to work as an Expeditor with the Early Case Assessment Bureau (ECAB)  The Early Case Assessment Bureau (ECAB) screens all arrests that occur in Brooklyn, determining whether a prosecution will be declined or will go forward and if the latter, what charges will be brought. ECAB staff members interview police officers and, in some instances, victims and witnesses. The bureau drafts the charging document (i.e., the complaint) upon which the defendant will initially be arraigned and prepares supporting documents and notices to be submitted in court. KCDA has an exciting opportunity to work as a Court Part Support Specialist in its Case Management Services (CMS) Unit.  The Officeâs Case Management Services Unit (CMS) provides essential support to the Officeâs legal practice, ensuring the collection, entry, and auditing of complete, timely, and high-quality data from court proceedings and other sources.  CMS data is relied upon by assigned prosecutors preparing their cases, prosecutors appearing in court, and supervisors throughout the Office and supports the Officeâs reporting, analysis, and transparency initiatives, and its staff are a critical part of the Officeâs mission to keeping Brooklyn safe while building community trust by ensuring fundamental fairness in the criminal justice system.   In this night shift position, the Court Part Support Specialist is responsible for in-court support (especially in the arraignment parts) and clerical support to KCDAâs Case Management Services Unit.
