Under Local Law 199 of 2019, the Department of Sanitation is required to implement a program known as Commercial Waste Zones (CWZ), which transfers the regulation of private waste haulers to the Department of Sanitation.  DSNY is seeking one Agency Attorney III to join the Bureau of Commercial Waste. The Agency Attorney will report to the Senior Counsel for Commercial Waste Zones and will support the Bureau on questions of law, fact and administrative policy relating to the CWZ program.  Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: - Under direction, with wide latitude for independent judgment and decision making, the Agency Attorney will engage in detailed and complex legal work related to the CWZ program. - Assists the Senior Counsel in ensuring compliance with Commercial Waste Carter contract terms, laws, rules, and regulations. - Supports the Senior Counsel on all legal matters pertaining to the CWZ program. - Drafts policy statements on behalf of the Bureau.

The primary responsibilities would include the following:   â¢	Prepares solicitation documents required for all methods of procurement of routine or moderate complexity.
